Hume Lake 2011, Part 1

Hume Lake is one of our favorite places on earth! My grandpa Chet Pharis built our cabin back in 1959 with a lot of reused material and a desire to have his family near him while he served the Lord by building a camp unlike any other. Today the cabin is remarkably the same as it was in the 60's and even more loved by the next generation blessed to use it! I'm breaking this trip into three posts because there are too many good pictures!

This is the classic kid in the kitchen sink picture... I have one of every kid in it and my mom probably has one of me!

Walking with the Wise

This is our new favorite new "CDs." It has a great beats and even better words! Plus, it was downloadable from the Sovereign Grace Music website, with the accompaniment tracks!  Why would I need accompaniments, you may ask? Well, I need them for the girls choir I'm leading at church. This should be a fun little adventure that culminates May 7 & 8 when the girls will sing at the Ladies Luncheon and at church the next day. Please pray for me as I plan and lead!

The First Day of Watson Super School! 2010

Hambone in the middle saying, "Cheese!"
Sweet Sisters!
The girls picked out their clothes for the first day and Naomi did her own hair. Who said they could get so big?
Naomi (5), Ava (4), Luke (21 months), Tricia (31 weeks pregnant!)

We started school this past Monday and what a blessing its been! I was unsure of how difficult it would be to start up our school routine, but all three kids have done great. Ava works on her "Pre-K" while Luke colors or plays with something at the table while I teach Naomi her Math or Phonics. Then we all do Five in a Row together. So far we're just reviewing, but I've been pleasantly surprised by how much she's remembered.

Easter 2009

I serve a risen Savior, he's in the world today

I know that he is with me whatever men may say

I see his hand of mercy, I hear his voice of cheer

And just the time I need him, he's always near.

HE LIVES, HE LIVES, CHRIST JESUS LIVES TODAY!

And we're so thankful he does! May you be drawn to the Savior, Christ Jesus!

Eek! I've been tagged!

My fellow pregnant girlfriend Megan has tagged me for 6 fascinating facts about myself. So, since my first fascinating fact is

1. I am a nerd. I looked "fascinating" up to get some ideas because fascinating is an intimidating word when I think of using it for myself. Things that are charming, attractive, or interesting about me?! Hmmm....

2. I can't spell. You would think that since I'm a nerd at heart who loves to read that I could spell. Nope. I spelled facinating wrong every time! Spell check is a mercy for me and for you the reader!

3. I've been enjoying remembering how to sew on the great sewing machine my Mom & Tex got me for my birthday. Hopefully Megan will enjoy the outcome too!

4. I love beans. Especially black beans, but really beans cooked any which way. (fascinating, huh?!)

5. I am thoroughly entertained by my kids. Naomi just informed me that she shared her candy with her Daddy. "I gave him two pieces because he's the Daddy-o." Thanks for the smile Naomi!

6. One thing that continues to amaze me is God's grace to bless us with not one but three children. I do not deserve such wonderful gifts but I am thankful for them. I will continue to pray that in the same way He did for Hannah (1Samuel 1), He will open the wombs of my precious friends who would love to raise children in the fear and admonition of the Lord.

He got me again

This story begins in March when Naomi saw the play set at Costco and said, "Mommy I want one!"

Her clever mommy said, "You'll have to talk to daddy because that's his department." But the mommy asked the daddy about getting a play set and the daddy made a comment about just making his own. The mommy didn't really get her hopes up. Then the family went to Costco and while the mommy got necessary stuff the daddy lingered by the play set with the girls.

Once again Naomi said, "Daddy I want that."

The daddy, being the clever guy that he is, asked her, "Do you need it or do you want it?"

To his surprise she said, "I want it."

The next Sunday, after Sunday School, Church, and a potluck the daddy wanted to go by Costco and look at the play set again. The mommy objected in favor of naps for the girls (and her pregnant self), so the daddy headed off to Costco with a friend. The mommy got home, put the girls to bed, read the paper, took a nap and thought, "Are Steve and Marton still at Costco?!"

To the mommy's shock and joy the daddy came home and said he bought the play set. The mommy didn't believe him and the friend just laughed. So the mommy went outside and what did she find in the friends truck but 6 huge boxes and a big blue slide. That daddy sure did surprise that mommy, who mistakenly thought they may have a play set by 2020.

All that to say that this weekend Steve, Marton, Donny, Grandpa Watson and Paul all worked very hard and the girls are thrilled to have a wonderful place to play in their very own backyard. Better pictures to follow!

Just Peachy!

I canned peaches for the first time this morning! I'm feely very domestic and tired, but excited that we'll get to enjoy our peaches all year instead of just this month. Hooray for peaches!

The cutest nephew ever!

No offense to our other nephews, but they're just not "cute & cuddly" like little Koen Jacob Ensz! On our way home from LA we stopped to see his cuteness in person. He's just 3 weeks old in these pictures. What a treasure he is! Doug and Jill are blessed!

Our 10 Year Anniversary Trip

We had a lovely time on our cruise. It was very relaxing to be with my wonderful husband, alone! I can't believe on August 1 we'll have been married ten years! I'm too young for that aren't I? The girls had a blast with our wonderful friends Steve & Pam. I'm so thankful for the blessing of marriage and God's providence in bring Steve & I together.
