Happy Easter

Here's one of our family's favorite Easter songs. Ava even sings along on the alleluias.

Christ the Lord is Risen Today

Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!

Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia!

Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!

Sing, ye heavens, and earth, reply, Alleluia!

Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!

Where O death is now thy sting? Alleluia!

Dying once he all doth save. Alleluia!

Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!

Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!

Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!

Death in vain forbids His rise, Alleluia!

Christ hath opened paradise, Alleluia!

Soar we now where Christ hath led, Alleluia!

Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!

Made like Him, like Him we rise, Alleluia!

Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!

Great Quote

The industrial revolution came and took the men from the home. Compulsory schooling came and took the children from the home. Feminism came and took the women from the home. And now...they are all out working to pay the mortgage so the dog can stay at home by himself.

Ouch! For more on this see here.

Family Devotions

What are family devotions? They are an intentional time of training our children to worship their Maker through:
1. Singing Praises (2-4 songs)
2. Memorizing Scripture (My ABC Bible verses)
3. Memorizing Questions & Answers (Catechism for Young Children)
4. Reading a story from the Bible (The Big Picture Story Bible)
5. Prayer
Steve also intermittently includes reading the Apostles Creed & reading from his Bible. He does a great job of keeping it simple for the girls (3.5 yrs 19 mo.) Another book that has been helpful is The Family Worship Book. Check out my video log for some excerpts from our lively & sometimes humorous Family Devotions.

Fun in the Homeland!

Grandma Ardis played Naomi's favorite song "O For a Thousand Tongues" and several others.
It was wonderful to sing praise to the Lord with Grandma!

Janel let Naomi paint her toenails. What a brave girl!

I was a bit of a slacker with the camera but Toni, Susan & Lis got some great pictures.

My mom (Nana) has some cute ones here.
