Wow! I think the biggest shock of the 9 month marker is that in only 3 months Naomi will be 1 year old. How can that be? She's just a baby! So we try to capture the moments and soak in as much "baby" as possible.
Naomi had her check-up today. Dr. Austin gave her the thumbs up approval. She is long and lean, 28 1/2 inches and 16 lbs. 4 oz. This puts her in the 75th percentile for height and the 10th for weight. The the goal of charting percentages is just to see that baby is growing at a regular rate. So, since Naomi has been at these percentages each time, that shows she's growing at her normal rate.
Dr. Austin also encouraged us to start practicing "pulling up" with Naomi. She has the leg strength but is still learning how to utilize her hands & arms. So, practice we are and learned she will be, very soon I'm thinking.

Emerald Bay...
...with the family. Check out the link above. It's a definite "must see."
Also, Naomi got her first nickname this weekend from Uncle Lyle:
Na-Homie, but you have to say it with a "white boy trying to be a black brother" accent while you're pretending to rap. It's very entertaining to watch Lyle & the kids say it.
Lake Tahoe Kids
On Saturday while the dads rode the Flume Trail the kids played. In the afternoon we went for a bike ride to Lake Tahoe. There is a great paved trail system around the lake, so we only had to dodge cars a short while. These kids were great riders and all obeyed the rules of the road. Of course, once they saw the lake the bike ride was over and into the sand & water they went! From L-R: Jake, Emmy, Naomi, Leah, Rebecca, & Josh. Not pictured Tricia, Stephanie & Kim. We also checked out some of the Tallac Historic Site http://www.tahoecountry.com/oldtimetahoe/tallac.html, which we definitely need to visit again.

Crawling? When?
So I was a little eager in thinking that Naomi would be tearing it up by my birthday or at least Steve's. But alas, both have passed and she's still pushing herself into corners and rolling around. I keep thinking that it will happen any day because she gets so frustrated at her lack of mobility... but who knows... she may forgo crawling and just get up and walk away.
She is waving "hi" and clapping which is very very cute but difficult to get an accurate picture of. Maybe Andrew has some tips on how to capture the wave. The not-so-cute thing she learned to do is scream. It's that high pitched shrill sort of howl that could wake the dead but right now she just tortures me.

Pictures of Naomi's first camping trip are coming soon!
