Sometimes Naomi reminds us that she really is only 3 years old. Today when she was supposed to be napping she stuck a charm that she pulled off a bracelet up her nose. So when she awoke from her nap cranky and with a leaky nose I just thought she was getting the crud from Steve (who is home sick).
Then she said, "I stuck the heart up my nose."
So I took her to the couch and shined a flashlight up her nose. I saw nothing. So I called Steve inside (he was feeding the chickens), he looked and saw nothing. So I figured we had better try to blow it out before head to the ER. Of course Naomi is crying by now because she can feel the heart when she breathes. So I get her to calm down a bit and tell her to blow really hard. She was very "strong & courageous" (its a vbs thing) and after the first blow I saw somthing silver poking out of her nose. But, then she breathed in and it disappeared. So I told her to blow again and there it came. Whew! Also, she has decided not to stick anything else up her nose, it hurts too much!

My daughter was the same age when she stuck a little lego piece up her nose. I think it was more traumatic for me than it was for her! (fortunately, we could grab it with a pair of tweezers.)
